You will be picked up from Alexandria Port by your Egyptology guide in an air-conditioned vehicle and travel to Alexandria, the second-largest city in Egypt.
You will then visit the Kom el Shoqafa necropolis (it contains tombs on three levels and also includes a Tri-cilium where relatives used to sit on stone benches for ceremonies for the dead, as well as a centre with carvings of bearded snakes. Your next visit will be the most famous library of antiquity, the Library of Alexandria (this library was founded and maintained by a long series of Ptolemies in Egypt since the beginning of the third century BC),
Qaitbay Citadel is strategically located on a thin arm of land that extends to Alexandria port from the Corniche; what distinguishes this castle is that it was built Qaitbay built on this site to take advantage of the existing foundations remaining from the legendary Pharos Lighthouse (one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World) which had fallen into ruins by the 14th century.
After your tour, you will be returned to Alexandria Port.
