Choosing a good place to build a pyramid was the first step. This had to be on the western side of the Nile because of the sunset in the west, and this was where the dead were believed to go when they died. When the Nile flooded, the pyramids had to be built on higher ground to prevent them from flooding.
However, it could not be too far from the shore because blocks of high-quality limestone had to be transported from outside Tora up the Nile. The chosen spot will be on a desert plateau with a solid rock base that can bear the enormous weight of the Pyramid without breaking. It also had to be easy for the king to get from the capital so that he could check out the building anytime.
Giza Necropolis:
The name “Egypt” is often associated with the Giza pyramids. The size of the pyramids, especially the one at Giza, has always been and always will be an inspiration to the millions of tourists who visit Egypt every year. Everyone who goes to Egypt wants to know how the three kings, Khafre, Khufu, and Menkaure, managed to build such large structures.
Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu):

There are a lot of interesting facts about the Egyptian pyramids. For example, the Pyramid of Khufu, also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza, is one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
Khafre, son of Khufu, and King Menkaure built impressive pyramids at Giza, but neither is as large as King Khufu’s Great Pyramid. The Great Pyramid was built in 2560 BC. It used to be 481 feet long, but after removing its impressive top stone, it is now only 455 feet high.
Archaeologists believe that the stability of the economy and government in Egypt during the era of the Old and Middle Kingdoms is shown by things like the pyramids that were built thousands of years ago. Building the Pyramid required a lot of work and resources, and finding the right people with the right skills to make the Pyramid also took a lot of work.
The considerable size and high quality of the pyramids built at different times during ancient Egyptian history show that the fourth dynasty was the only time more advanced building tools were available.
Pyramid of Khafre:

People say that the Pyramid of Khafre is the second largest Pyramid in Giza. It was built for King Khafre, the third pharaoh of the Fourth Dynasty in the Old Kingdom of Egypt (2540 BC). It was the Greek name for King Khafre. He is the grandson of King Senefru and the son of King Khufu, who built the Great Pyramid of Giza.
During the “Golden Age” of the Old Kingdom, when King Khafre and his family built the pyramids, they are believed to have been the giant pyramids ever seen in Egypt or anywhere else.
The Great Sphinx is also one of the most iconic buildings in ancient Egypt, and it was built to protect the tombs of the kings at Giza.

Menkaure Pyramid:

It is the third and smallest of the Giza pyramids. They are owned by King Menkaure (Mycerinus in Greek). Archaeologists believe it was built in the late 26th century BC. King Menkaure, like other kings named on the pyramids of Giza, was in charge of Egypt during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom. Some archaeological evidence indicates that Menkaure was the son of King Khafra, who owned the second Pyramid and the Great Sphinx. However, some historical accounts dispute this fact.
The Pyramid of Menkaure used to be 215 meters tall, but now it is only 204 meters high because its outer casing and upper stone have been removed. Like the other pyramids at Giza, the lower part of the Pyramid of Menkaure is made of pink granite, and the upper parts are made of white Tura limestone.
The Great Sphinx of Giza:

Statues such as the Great Sphinx, which has the body of a lion and the head of a human, first appeared in Egypt at the beginning of the dynasty. The design of each statue was based on a two-page story. In the middle of the Fourth Dynasty, the first statue of the king was made in the form of a sphinx.
Succeeding King Khufu, King Getef Ra was the first king to have a statue of the Sphinx. This was thought to be the first royal statue of this kind in the form of a sphinx. The statue was found near the Pyramid of Abu Rawash in Giza, and it is now on display in the Louvre Museum.
What does “Sphinx” mean?
The word “Sphinx” comes from the ancient Egyptian name “SSP Ankh”, which means “living image” or “representation”. It was first used as a Greek word. The Great Sphinx is primarily an image of the king, a living copy of him, and a picture of a combination of mental and physical strength.
The statue’s human head shows the king’s mental strength, while the lion’s body shows his physical strength. Egyptologists believe that if the Sphinx represented an ancient Egyptian deity, they could transform the wild nature of the lion into a peaceful god using human intelligence.
