The colonial style of the first Dahabiyas, built in Oman in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, was used as a model for the Sacred Lotus Dahabiya Nile Cruise, also created during this time. The heart of this traditional two-masted sailing boat is on the sundeck, partly protected from the weather by the sails. It is the perfect place to relax in a comfortable wooden deck chair and watch the world go by while taking in the view. In addition to the salon, there is a nice living area, one suite, four cabins, and one suite on the lower deck. The cozy lounge has a small library with a few books about Egypt and the Nile on display. These books have something to do with what the lounge is about. It is the perfect place to unwind after a long work day because it has comfortable sofas. While you relax with a cup of Turkish coffee or a bottle of Alexandrian wine, you can talk about your life and experiences, read a book, or play a backgammon game. You could also do any of these other things.
