Egypt itinerary 5 days is a must for anyone who wants to experience the country’s rich culture and history and taste how people live in the desert.
The best part of our trip is our five days in Egypt. Please choose one of our unique 5-day Egypt tours to start your journey through the beautiful cities of Egypt, such as Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, and Aswan.
You can see and do a lot if you have five days in Egypt. Most tourists stay in Cairo, a good starting point for excursions to nearby Giza to see the pyramids and Sphinx.
Visit Luxor and the Valley of the Kings to learn more about ancient Egypt, or take a side trip to Alexandria to see the Roman ruins before ending your trip with a Nile dinner cruise from Cairo.
What to Do in Egypt in 5 days?
Day 1: Cairo Attractions & Night Activities in Cairo
During this time, we were to see several cultural sites. Since you are already in Cairo, you should check out the Giza Pyramids and the Great Sphinx, and these are the only two of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World that still exist today—Saqqara, which was once the capital of Memphis, is where you can see more pyramids.
The next stop is the Egyptian Museum, which contains artifacts worth a lot of money. You will be amazed at the museum’s 250,000 unique items dating back 5,000 years.
Khan El Khalili is a large market where you can buy unique souvenirs, and it’s a great place to go in the evening. The Cairo Tower also has a beautiful view of the city, which is a great way to end the day. Or a dinner cruise on the Nile.
Day 2: A Day trip to Alexandria
Alexandria is less crowded than Cairo and has a lovely sea view, but it doesn’t have big attractions like the pyramids. This pretty harbor town on the sparkling blue Mediterranean Sea has much to see.
The Citadel of Qaitbay, which was constructed on the site of the original lighthouse, the National Museum of Alexandria, and the Library of Alexandria, which was renamed the Library of Alexandria and is now widely believed to be one of the best libraries in the region, are all worth a visit.
St. Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, St. Mina Monastery, and Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi Mosque are all religious buildings in Alexandria. Alexandria’s many Greek and Roman ruins are not to be missed.
Day 3: Aswan
One of the most popular places to visit in all of Egypt is Upper Egypt, which includes the cities of Luxor and Aswan. On the third day, you must take a train to Aswan, a very different place from Cairo and Alexandria.
In the area, you can visit the Kalabsha Temple on the shores of Lake Nasser, the Abu Simbel and Philae temples offering nightly light and sound shows, and Elephantine Island, which you can see during a felucca cruise.
You can also go to the Nubian Village to see the colorful buildings and listen to the locals playing the drums or to the Aswan Botanical Garden on Kitchener Island to see the exotic plants.
Day 4: Nile cruise
On day four, you’ll take a Nile River cruise from Aswan to Luxor, stopping at Luxor and Karnak temples.
Have a wonderful traditional Egyptian lunch in Luxor before crossing the Nile to see other interesting places like the Valley of the Kings. Ancient Egyptian kings from the 18th to 20th dynasties were buried here. Their lavish tombs, like those of Ramesses II and Tutankhamun, are some of the most impressive ever built.
Before you call it a day, hit the bazaars and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.
Day 5: Final Departure
You will check out of Luxor or Aswan Airport for your final departure.
